Terms of Service

Dominion Handyman, henceforth known as "Contractor," and client are entering into this contract for the purpose of establishing the provisions of minor construction work on one or more properties, owned or managed by the client.

Charges & Fees
  • Client agrees to the hourly rate as shown on the rate page of this website.

  • Labor charges accumulate in 15 minute increments (including travel to the job site).

  • Minimum visit charge is one (1) hour, whether work is performed or not.

  • Estimates are offered without charge or obligation.

Scope of Work
  • All work is to be per a written statement of work agreed to by the Contractor and the Client.

  • Pursuant to an estimate, if provided, and any changes agreed to by all parties hereto, the Contractor agrees to perform handyman services for the Client.

  • Client understands that if changes are necessary during the course of construction, the Contractor will provide the Client with a change order, and the Client will be responsible for the additional incurred costs of the agreed changes.

  • Contractor will be responsible for purchasing all materials and equipment necessary for the completion of the job.

  • Contractor agrees to remove all debris, equipment, materials, etc. from the location upon completion of construction.

Payment
  • Client agrees to pay Contractor according to the following plan:

    1. A deposit of the greater of 10% or $250 may be required before any work (including purchase of job supplies) can be started.

    2. All labor and materials costs will be paid for on a weekly basis, on production of an invoice for services and job-related expenses.

    3. Invoices are due on receipt.

  • Client agrees that if payment is not made within 3 days of invoice receipt, Contractor has the right to stop all work until such time as payments are current.

  • The Contractor shall be reimbursed all reasonable costs associated with work performed.

  • Payment: Credit cards, Zelle, checks or cash are accepted.

  • Credit card transactions will be charged a 2.9% convenience fee.

  • ACH transactions will be charged a 1% convenience fee.​

  • Convenience fees are set by our credit card processing vendor and are passed through to clients.

Schedule (includes inclement weather)
  • Contractor agrees that any delays and/or changes not agreed to in statement of work must be discussed with Client before work continues.

  • Bee recovery and removal work is NOT performed during inclement weather (including heavy overcast days or temperatures below 60˚F).

  • Exterior work is NOT performed during inclement weather (precipitation of any kind or high winds) due to safety concerns.

Penalties for Late Payment & Collection Actions
  • Client understands that outstanding balances shall accrue interest at the rate of 15% on the outstanding balance, compounded monthly, commencing 10 days from the due date.

  • Client understands that if collection action is required a fee of $250 will be added to the account  for each action required until the account is settled.

  • A returned check shall be subject to an additional fee of $50 per returned item.

Privacy Policy
  • Data collected by Dominion Handyman is used exclusively for client job management and is not released to third parties, unless required by law.

  • Dominion Handyman uses third party software and systems, such as 10to8.com (scheduling), Wave Accounting, Wix (our website), Google Drive, and Facebook, each of whom maintain their own privacy policies.

  • Dominion Handyman is a trading name of Atlantic Resilience, LLC. This information appears on invoices, statements and estimates.

  • Dominion Handyman is located in Herndon, Virginia 20171.

  • Contact information is contained on every page of this website.

  • We collect information to allow for communication with clients, to provide accurate and timely invoices and to process client payments.

  • We collect collect visitor information from both our website and Facebook page for the purpose of arranging for minor construction work.

  • Visitor and client information is protected by password controlled access using cloud-based storage systems which are only accessible by authorized Dominion Handyman personnel.

  • User can opt-out of collecting information, only after the completion of work, if any, and settlement of all accounts. Any person receiving solicitations for work by Dominion Handyman may opt out by selecting the unsubscribe link at the end of each email.

  • Dominion Handyman does not sell or provide information to any third parties.

Licensing and Insurance
  • Dominion Handyman maintains commercial general liability insurance through State National Insurance Company, Inc.

  • Virginia law does not require a contractors license for handyman jobs under $1,000.

  • Dominion Handyman has a business relationship with a Class A contractor for larger jobs.

Force Majeure
  • Dominion Handyman shall be excused from any delay or failure in performance required hereunder if caused by reason of any occurrence or contingency beyond its reasonable control, including, but not limited to, acts of God, acts of war, fire, insurrection, strikes, lock-outs or other serious labor disputes, riots, earthquakes, floods, explosions or other acts of nature.

Limitation of Liability
  • The Client acknowledges and agrees that <Business Name> will not be liable for any losses or damages, whether indirect, incidental, special or consequential, in profits, goods or services, irrespective of whether or not the Client has been advised or otherwise might have anticipated the possibility of such loss or damage.

No Guarantee
  • The client acknowledges and agrees that Dominion Handyman cannot guarantee the results or effectiveness of any of the services rendered or to be rendered. Rather, services shall be executed in a professional manner and in accordance with good industry practice. Best efforts will be used but no results are promised.

General Terms
  • Invalidity or unenforceability of one or more provisions of these terms shall not affect any other provision of this agreement.

  • This contract is subject to the laws and regulations of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
